Bacalhau, Goat, and more Bacalhau!

Hello everyone!!!!

This week has been so so amazing! I had the opportunity to speak with my family through Skype on Monday, and it was so so nice to see them! I hope you all had a very merry Christmas! Also, Happy New Year everyone! Happy 2018!!! WHOO! It definitely doesn't feel that way at all! This year flew by!

New Year's was great for us. We had church, a man asked me to marry him twice and so we let the Elders be in charge of him, we had lunch witth a really really nice family and had dinner with an amazing human being! Then we came home and slept! People love firecrackers here! They said that it would be even worse at night, but Sister Anderson and I were sooooo tired that we didn't hear anything at midnight haha we just slept!
We have had the goal every month to baptize 75 people. This months we finally met that goal and achieved 76 this month! I was looking at all the pictures and everyone looked so so happy and I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to be here serving with such hard workers and be helping the people prepared to hear about this gospel! I love these people so so much!

During the Christmas season, Bacalhau (Cod Fish) is the main dish here! They prepare it in so many different ways and they are all so so good! We also had the opportunity to eat goat, and I have to admit that I did not like that at all. It has a really strong taste, and it made everything else taste that way. I ate it all, but I did not enjoy it.

We have been really trying hard lately to find new people to teach and it hasn't been working really well, but we found miracles on Saturday! We knocked some doors and ended up finding two people to teach right at that moment! One of the people had already spoken to the missionaries in the past and let us in right away! They were both so nice and we have return appointments with them and I hope we can teach them more!

I am in denial that Christmas is over, so Sister Anderson and I are still listening to Christmas music and humming and singing in the streets as well. I love serving here in Miratejo with Sister Anderson and getting to new her! She is such an incredible missionary with a desire to work hard and be an amazing missionary! She has already taught me so much and I am very grateful to have her in my life!

I love you all so so much! Have an amazing week! This new year, make some goals that will help you become better and bring you closer to your Savior, Jesus Christ. Christmas is not just only in December, but all year round!
