Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

Bom Dia Alegria!!!
Como Voces estão?

I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving and ate lots! Since they don't celebrate Thanksgiving here, it was just a normal day and I ended up getting a flu shot! We thankfully have a missionary couple here from the United States, so we ended up having a Thanksgiving meal with them yesterday and it was incredible!

I have officially hit 6 MONTHS! Where has the time gone?! It is flying by and I need it to go a little slower!

I have been doing really poorly at sending emails and I am very sorry for that! I will try to do better these coming weeks!

We had William's baptism yesterday! It has been a struggle teaching him because it has all been in English and it is a miracle that any of those lessons made sense. William has so much faith and was prepared by the Lord to meet with us and listen to this gospel. He is such an incredible person and it has been such a pleasure to get to know him and help him get closer to Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. He would also give us Nigerian food everytime we went over there!

We have also been teaching Edgar! He is from Cape Verde and has so much knowledge. We go over and teach him things we think will be new to him and he understands them all perfectly and wants to learn more. His faith is growing more and more each day and he was able to find a job! He starts tomorrow! This gospel truly changes lives! I love being here and seeing the differences made in people's lives.

I am thankful for all of you in my life and am very grateful to be here in Portugal dedicating my time to help the people here strengthen their relationship with Jesus Christ and God.

We are going to spend time in a bee farm today and I am both excited and terrified! I'll tell y'all all about it next week! I love y'all!!

Too Busy To Write!!

This week, Andrea has been super busy, but we were able to get some pics to share with all of you... Most of the time, we don't get an explanation, so there are many pics we don't understand their meaning. At least she looks very happy, and we are extremely grateful for that!!!
I have no time to send a weekly email! I am sorry!!! Next week I will make up for it. I split my time up. I was writing presidente this morning and uploading pictures to the drive. P days are stressful.
So many things to do, and I still don't have time to send it. It's impossible.

I’m legal!

Ola familia e amigos!!!

This week has been a good one!
We started the week off by going to Lisbon so that I could go and do SEF (visa stuff). It felt so so good to be in Lisbon again, but the ride there was pretty long and I was getting really antsy. It takes 3 hours to get there by train. I went to go SEF with Sister Ramirez, Sister Warren and Sister Stubbs! It was like an MTC reunion! We all signed the papers and left our fingerprints so we are legal gain! Whoop! We stayed there for a couple more hours to go to a devotional that was given by someone in the Sunday school general presidency, President Durrant (who was a mission president in the Texas Dallas mission!) and the General Young Men’s President, President Owen. It was a really good devotional and we all felt so uplifted and ready to work afterwards! Those men have so so much power and have such strong testimonies of this gospel.

We are doing a 40 day fast here on the mission! Each day, one or two companionships will be doing a fast for the mission. We did it back in October and we saw so many miracles coming from it, so President Tavares decided to do it again and I can’t wait to see more miracles!

Our investigator, Jaime, accepted to be baptized on the 14th of this month, but he didn’t make it to church yesterday, so he won’t be getting baptized tomorrow. We have been calling him and stopping by his house and he is not responding. We don’t really know what’s going on, but I hope that we will be able to come into contact with him soon. He has been progressing so much and has been doing really well, he just needs to come to church one more time!

We taught a man named William with the Schlofmans (the senior couple in our area!). William is from Nigeria and I am convinced that he has been prepared to meet with us. We taught him about Joseph Smith and about how this church was restored and invited him to be baptized. He said that he wanted to be baptized and is ready! His friend was also there and listening and he made food for us! He made something called Fufu and a tomato soup with Okra. It was really good! They Were so nice and so sweet! I love meeting people here!!

Today we had a barbecue by the beach and we were told to wash the lettuce for the salad in the ocean. As missionaries, we can’t go out into the ocean, so we were standing there trying to wash the lettuce, but the water was too shallow so we were washing the lettuce with lots of sand basically. Welcome to a Portuguese BBQ.

Thanksgiving is coming up and I challenge you all to write 5 things you are grateful for each day. This will help you all see just how blessed you are and how much your Heavenly Father loves you! I will also be doing this challenge because I need to see more positively and see the hand of my Heavenly Father in my life!

I love you all so so much and hope you all have an amazing week!

Fico em Loulé!!

Ola família e amigos!!!

We received transfer calls and I am staying in Loulé with Sister Salas!

I hope you all had an amazing Halloween! Halloween in kind of celebrated here. The people decorate their shops and some children dress up and trick or treat. They also have all saints day which is the day after and everyone goes and visits their deceased loved ones at the cemetery. It's really sweet!

This week has been a really trying week. We met several people that tried to discredit what we were saying or trying to start an argument bout religion with us. We also haven't had much success with finding new people to teach. When these moments occur, I am extremely grateful that we have a living day prophet, Thomas S Monson to guide us and help us know what is the correct path we should take. I am extremely grateful for the sacrifice that our Savior, Jesus Christ did for us and that I can always be forgiven no matter what I do. I am extremely grateful that everyday I get to wake up and be a representative of Jesus Christ and help others come closer to him. I love you all and this gospel!

Have an amazing week!
